<title>The Lancet series on Sexual Health</title>
<link>http://www.canadianyouthworker.com/Article21.html</link>
<description>The Lancet is a UK medical journal. The online version has limited access, however they recently did a series on Sexual and Reproductive health around the world. I have not had a chance to read through the articles but the titles sound interesting (Unsafe abortion: The Preventable Pandemic, Sexual and reproductive health for all - A call for action).

They also have a podcast.

<link>http://www.canadianyouthworker.com/Article20.html</link>
<description>By: Rob Haslam

<title>Mentoring and the Discipleship of Adolescents: Research and Applications to the Church</title>
<link>http://www.canadianyouthworker.com/Article19.html</link>
<description>By: Wayne T. Aoki, et al.
We review the empirical literature regarding mentoring relationships with adolescents. Particular attention is given to outcome studies documenting the generally positive effects of mentoring. These mentoring outcomes reflect positive changes in academic and social functioning, as well as moderation or reduction in alcohol and drug usage. The sparse literature addressing mentor influences on adolescent religious beliefs is also reviewed with attention to the manner in which mentoring supports faith development.Recommendations are offered for churches and youth discipleship programs.

<link>http://www.canadianyouthworker.com/Article16.html</link>
<description>By: Dan Doerksen

A comprehensive (another way to say long) document covering many different aspects of youth ministry, from a theological foundation, to a discipleship model, all the way to a strategic one year calendar. Something I put together in College which has given me a lot of direction in my own youth ministry. Hope it can help you too!

<title>25 Sentences that Define a Generation</title>
<link>http://www.canadianyouthworker.com/Article15.html</link>
<description>By: Graeme Codrington
(Taken from his Honours Thesis on Generation, available on line for free)
A doctor does not point to his patient and say, &quot;Penicillin&quot;. He examines the patient before he hands out the prescription. Youth ministry is cross cultural missions. Youth are a mission field another culture and therefore we need to think like a missionary. Learn the language and the culture before you start speaking to youth.

<description>By: Rob Haslam

Where Webster&amp;rsquo;s Dictionary does well to answer our Western Christian understanding of discipleship, I am compelled to consider what the New Testament world understood when one called them selves a disciple.&amp;nbsp; I am convinced that the Biblical definition of disciple is somewhat different from that of Webster&amp;rsquo;s Dictionary.
